AS/NZS 3800 Overhaul & Repair - Electrical equipment for explosive atmospheres

Course Cost: $1,650 AUD (GST Free)

Incorporates 5 units of competency:

  • UEENEEM080A - Report on the integrity of explosion-protected equipment in a hazardous area

  • UEENEEM031A - Overhaul and repair of explosion-protected equipment - coal mining

  • UEENEEM032A - Overhaul and repair of explosion-protected equipment - flameproof

  • UEENEEM033A - Overhaul and repair of explosion-protected equipment - gas atmospheres

  • UEENEEM034A - Overhaul and repair of explosion-protected equipment - dust atmospheres

The course is for those required to undertake the Repair and Overhaul of Electrical Equipment for explosive atmospheres, examples:

  • Workshops certified to AS/NZS 3800 Overhaul & Repair

This course is aligned to requirements of AS/NZS 3800 Overhaul & Repair - Electrical equipment for explosive atmospheres - Repair and overhaul. Appendix “B” Knowledge, Skills and Competencies of ‘Responsible Persons’ and ‘Operatives’.

The course is intended for Electricians and Electrical Engineers to understand their requirements for the Overhaul & Repair of Hazardous Areas equipment. Theory and practical components have an emphasis on Overhaul and repair of explosion-protected equipment.

Qualification Issued

Providing a Statement of Attainment is conditional to meeting these requirements.

Unrestricted Electrical Licence or an Academic Transcript for the full Certificate III in Electrotechnology or a higher level AQF (Australian Qualifications Framework) Electrical qualification/s are required for review for compliance, e.g. Electrical Engineering Diploma or Degree.

What if I do not have a current Unrestricted Electrical Licence, Academic Transcript for the full Certificate III in Electrotechnology or a higher level AQF Electrical qualification?

  • You are not eligible to be awarded a Statement of Attainment, but will be provided a Statement of Attendance for the course
  • You will be eligible for a Statement of Attendance only (due to ASQA requirements)

Recommended refresher every 3 years.

The course is nationally recognised through inclusion on the Australian Quality Training Framework (AQTF). Workplace Approved throughout Australia.

3 x 8 hours days

Target Audience

This course is designed to assist Electrical trades and professionals who work in Workshops certified to AS/NZS 3800 Overhaul & Repair.

Entry Requirements

There are pre-requisites for this course refer to qualification issued.

It is recommended that students have sufficient literacy, numeracy and visual interpretation skills to successfully complete the course to AQF level 3.

Appropriate clothing and enclosed footwear are required.

Core Content

This course covers the principles of Workshops certified to AS/NZS 3800 Overhaul & Repair.

Requirements for Completion

100% attendance, participation, and examination pass.
