in Hazardous Areas Refresher

 

EEHA Refresher

Course Cost: $1,100 AUD (GST Free)

This written and verbal theory (practical is at the provision of RPL and liability of the employer/student) only and consists of an intensive 2-days of examinations in regard to the relevant units of competency.

If you have previously done the EEHA course and have worked in a related industry you are eligible to do the EEHA refresher course.

There is an RPL (recognition of prior learning) process and requires you to prove your work history verbally during the course and in writing prior to commencement to be eligible.

EEHA REFRESHER = Recognition of Prior Learning:

  • The employer/officer of the company (Manager) and or student shall provide a detailed, signed, letter of the experience the employee acquired maintained during the previous three years

  • Student shall prove their work history verbally during the course.

This course is standard for those required to undertake safe working practices in Explosive environments and Hazardous Areas, examples:

  • Coal mines

  • Grain Handling

  • Gas plants (LNG/CSG)

  • Food Processing

  • Petrochemical Industries

The course and is intended for Electricians and Electrical Engineers to understand their requirements in hazardous area classification, explosion-protection techniques, equipment installation requirements, inspections and procedures for breakdowns and maintenance. Ex and HA theory and practical are covered with an emphasis on inspection and testing.

Qualification Issued

Granting competency in this unit shall be made only after competency required by a given industry or enterprise for plant or machinery operation or installations, maintenance or service functions at least at AQF 3 or equivalent. Examples are, (but not limited to) those listed in the Pre-Requisites section at training.gov or on enquiry.

Providing a Statement of Attainment is conditional to meeting these requirements.

Unrestricted Electrical Licence or an Academic Transcript for the full Certificate III in Electrotechnology or a higher level AQF (Australian Qualifications Framework) Electrical qualification/s are required for review for compliance, e.g. Electrical Engineering Diploma or Degree.

What if I do not have a current Unrestricted Electrical Licence, Academic Transcript for the full Certificate III in Electrotechnology or a higher level AQF Electrical qualification?

  • You are not eligible to be awarded a Statement of Attainment, but will be provided a Statement of Attendance for the course
  • You will be eligible for a Statement of Attendance only (due to ASQA requirements)

Recommended refresher every 3 years.

The course is nationally recognised through inclusion on the Australian Quality Training Framework (AQTF). Workplace Approved throughout Australia.

2 x 8 hours days

Target Audience

This course is designed to assist Electrical trades and professionals who work in the Food Processing, Grain Handling, CSG/LNG, Coal, and petrochemical industries who encounter Electrical Equipment in Hazardous Areas during the course of their work.

Entry Requirements

There are pre-requisites for this course refer to qualification issued and course RPL requirements.

It is recommended that students have sufficient literacy, numeracy and visual interpretation skills to successfully complete the course to AQF level 3.

Appropriate clothing and enclosed footwear are required.

Core Content

This Electrical Equipment for Hazardous Areas course covers the principles of hazardous area installation, maintenance, inspections, and breakdowns of explosion-protection equipment.

100% attendance, participation, and examination pass.
